A West Kelowna resident is hoping for a Christmas miracle after a wedding band, that had been passed down for generations, went missing on Tuesday.

Kate Bernier was at the Home Depot in West Kelowna just before 4 pm when she realized her ring had gone missing. She believes it may have fallen out of her car in the parking lot or was dropped inside the store.

Bernier says the rings holds a lot of sentimental value.

Her wedding ring was her dad’s from many years ago, and was originally Bernier’s grandfather’s.

“It meant a lot to me that I was able to wear something I loved so much that had been a part of my grandpa and my dad’s lives,” she said.

“My mom was a super sentimental person too so she was very happy that her dad’s ring had been given a new life and would be enjoyed by more generations. She just passed away in July so the ring is especially precious to me and I’m desperate to get it back.”

The West Kelowna resident says she would be happy to offer a reward to anyone who finds the ring.
