Kelowna’s newest city councillor, Loyal Wooldridge, announced today, July 18, he’s running for re-election.

“Today I have launched enCOURAGE Kelowna 2022, a re-election campaign focused on community priorities: safety, housing, transportation and the environment,” he posted on his Facebook page.

First elected in 2018, Wooldridge was the only new face on council for the current term as all seven incumbents who were running were re-elected.

He is the first openly gay city councillor, owns Loyal Hair Therapy and was elected as board of the Central Okanagan regional district last fall.

He joins Mohini Singh as the only two incumbents who, so far, have said they’re running for re-election. count Ryan Donn is the only one so far to say he’s not running.
