Kelowna Skating Club nabs 10 medals at Autumn Super Series

The Kelowna Skating Club showcased its depth and skill over the weekend, with an impressive performance at the Super Series Autumn Leaves event, held at Kamloops’ McArthur Island Sports Centre.

<p>In the novice women’s division, Kelowna skaters swept the podium.  Gabrielle Jugnauth won both the short and free program segments to win the overall gold medal.  Her 140.22 score is both a personal best and a BC record. </p>
<p>Calissa Adlem finished in second with a personal best 119.08 score, while Konstantina Lock completed the sweep with the bronze medal win. </p>
<p>At the junior women’s level, Emily Sales posted a 125.24 point performance to win the silver medal, while club mate Megan Yudin finished third. </p>
<p>Nine-year-old Ivy Matieshen had a terrific performance in the pre-juvenile women division, striking gold with a 29.52 point performance. </p>
<p>Sophie Clark’s personal best 20.78 performance was good enough for a victory in the STAR 5 under-13 girls division. </p>
<p>Isabella Smith rounded out the gold medal wins for Kelowna, scoring 18.06 points to best the field in the STAR 5 under-10 girls event. </p>
<p>In the STAR 4 level, Irene Park won the silver under-13, while Rebekah Vader won bronze in group two. </p>
<p>Next up for Kelowna skaters will be the BC and Yukon Sectional Championships taking place in Coquitlam next month, as BC’s top skaters will compete for provincial titles and national qualifying spots. </p>
