17 new cases of COVID-19 in internal health
The total number of cases in the region since the pandemic began stands at 7,072
The BC Center for Disease Control (BCCDC) announced that there are 17 new cases of COVID-19 in the Interior Health region.
29 people are in hospital because of the virus, nine people are currently in intensive care. The total number of cases in the region since the pandemic began is now 7,072.
Deaths in the region remain at 90.
The province announced 617 new cases across BC, for a total of 75,327 cases. Regions with the highest infection rates are Fraser Health (342) and Northern Health (92).
There are a total of 4,348 active COVID-19 cases in the province.
The BCCDC added that 180,691 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were given across the province, of which nearly 30,000 were second doses.
More Pfizer BioNTech vaccines are expected to arrive this week following a production outage at the European facility that supplies Canada to.
